About the speaker
Fergus followed an academic cursus with PhD at Glasgow University (1990) and a move to the south of France for a postdoctoral position at the University of Nice, eventually becoming a full time staff scientist. This was followed by a sabbatical at the State University of New York, StonyBrook, NY (1998-2000). However, industry beckoned and Fergus returned to the UK in July 2000 to a management position at GE Healthcare (GEHC) (formerly Amersham Biosciences). Latterly, Fergus ran a stem cell programme in the GEHC Research Dept. at Cardiff. In November 2004, Fergus returned to Scotland and joined ITI-Life Sciences as Programme Manager for the Stem Cell Technologies programme.
